BY TAKING CBD OIL OR HERB, CAN YOU TEST POSITIVE FOR DRUGS?
If you are an admirer of light cannabis and use it regularly, you may be asking yourself if taking cannabidiol CBD can prove positive and therefore counterproductive in drug tests for work, sports and other controls.
Basically, CBD should not show up in detection tests, but if you are not taking pure cannabidiol, there may be traces of THC in your system. In addition, it is precisely THC that makes drug tests positive.

Through this in-depth analysis, we want to provide you with useful details on taking CBD oil, hashish and weed & drug testing, so that you can be aware and take the necessary precautions.
Your goal is to be negative on a drug test despite taking light cannabis or derivative products, right? Then read on to find out how.
Can light cannabis contain THC and thus compromise drug test results?
As you probably know, legal hemp is supposed to contain very low amounts of THC, less than 0.2% to be precise… but not all distributors have it analyses to verify this for sure.
Indeed, legal cannabis comes from certified seeds, carefully selected to generate plants with almost no THC, yet even nature has its limits and THC percentages may be unexpectedly higher.
That is why we at Justbob have each batch analysed in the laboratory: only in this way can we guarantee our customers that the amounts of tetrahydrocannabinol are within the law (and therefore do not give psychotropic effects).
We do not sell batches with results over 0.2% and we publish the certification of each CBD stock online.

If you take non-certified light weed, you could therefore test positive on a drug test because in addition to CBD there could be traces of THC higher than 0.2%.
What if you buy CBD extracts or derivative products?
Even in this case you must make appropriate assessments. To avoid risks, we advise you to choose products derived from industrial hemp with THC in accordance with the law, therefore extracted from CBD weed, such as CBD oil light here:
So how much THC must be circulating in our body to give a positive result in the drug test?
THC in blood, urine, saliva and hair: values detected by a drug test
It is important to point out that drug tests look for THC or one of its main metabolites, THC-COOH, which can be detected even when THC is no longer circulating in the bloodstream but has now been transported into the cells.
Drug tests show a positive result when THC and/or THC-COOH exceed a certain threshold called the cut-off: values below the cut-off are ignored by the test, which is then negative.
The threshold is usually different depending on the test: drug detection tests are different and include blood, urine, hair and saliva analysis. Each has a certain sensitivity, i.e. the ability to detect drug quantities above the threshold.
Moreover, the detection period depends on various factors, including the amount of intake, frequency and activity of your metabolism. If you only consume light cannabis, which is low in tetrahydrocannabinol, it is very likely that your metabolism will dispose of both THC and its metabolite very quickly.
See below for details of the various analyses.
Urine test to detect THC
This is the most common CBD drogue test.
In urine, the THC-COOH metabolite must have a concentration of at least 50 ng/ml (nanograms per milliliter) for the test to be positive. This test usually detects THC-COOH in the urine for 3 to 15 days after marijuana use.
However, if THC intake is constant and in large quantities, the urine test could detect its presence even for 3 or 4 weeks after marijuana consumption.
Blood tests as drug tests
Blood is a transporter, so THC remains in the blood stream for a very short time: THC-COOH is detected up to a maximum of one week after consumption.
Because of this peculiarity, blood tests are only used as drug tests if one needs an answer immediately (e.g. to check for driving under the influence of drugs).
Blood tests have a cutoff set at 2 ng/ml.
Saliva drug test
Saliva retains traces of THC and its metabolites for a short time, from about an hour to a maximum of one day after cannabis consumption.
The saliva test is therefore one of the least used (or at most used by the police during checks on drivers).
Hair analysis to detect the presence of THC
Hair analysis is the most effective (though rarely used) drug test and allows detection of THC metabolites in the hair over a period of up to 90 days.
Why else might the use of Cannabidiol result in a positive THC test result?
There are several potential reasons why the use of full spectrum CBD could lead to a positive drug test result.
Benefits of CBD products
In recent years, multiple human studies and clinical trials have been carried out on cannabis, CBD cannabis and all its derivatives. Most of these have highlighted that they appear to have quite important health benefits for the well-being of humans and animals.
These are some of the health benefits that both CBD oil or other broad spectrum CBD products can bring to you:
- chronic pain
- joint pain
- cancer pain
- multiple sclerosis
- lennox gastaut syndrome
- dravet syndrome
Clinical studies about cannabidiol cbd confirm it can be used as a dietary supplements too.
Actually, we can say that the use of active ingredient derived from hemp seed oil, marijuana and hemp derived products can help with infinite illnesses and syndromes in humans.
Of course, there are side effects and adverse effects associated with using a cbd product for human health conditions. These effects can change from person to person.
So CBD is not detected in drug tests?
If it’s pure CBD (such us in our CBD products) no, but we can’t assure you that it won’t if you smoke legal cannabis, especially if it doesn’t have certified (and, of course, legally compliant) THC content.
